Rock 'n Roll inductees Rush excluding LA from 2nd leg of tour
Rush's management company (SRO Production) said by phone the band had toured Los Angeles in November, 2012, during its first leg in support of their latest release “Clockwork Angels”.
Rush did in fact perform in Anaheim, Universal City, and San Diego last year. However, if you check the World Almanac, you'll find these cities are not Los Angeles.
Although Universal City is in the Greater Los Angeles area, it's venue of the Gibson Amphitheater seats only around 6000. The Honda Center in Anaheim is considerably larger yet it's quite a distance from Los Angeles and both shows were only for one night each.
With a group history that spans more than four decades, Rush has usually performed in either Los Angeles or Hollywood when they are touring in Southern California. (source: http://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/tourdates.php)
Of course they would as the City of Angels is arguably one of the largest media markets in the world.
Rush will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Nokia Theater in April, and with exceptional reviews of their latest album “Clockwork Angels” and corresponding live shows, it would be a criminal act for avid fans living in the Los Angeles area to be deprived of this likely last chance to see them perform.
We, the undersigned, request that SRO Productions and all parties involved in the scheduling of Rush concert events, add additional dates to include Los Angeles, California, in the “Clockwork Angels North American Tour 2013” calendar.
