Are you looking for skilled Chef's and/or Smallgoods Makers for your business but don't get anyone to fill the position here in Australia?

The Australian Government implemented new changes again to the 457 Visa on the 18th of March 2018 and introduced the new Temporary Skill Shortage TSS (482) visas for Chef's and Smallgoods Makers.
The visa allows the employer to sponsor the candidate for 2 years only, with a maximum of 4 years and there is no more direct entry for permanent residency.

For the effected businesses it becomes very hard to find skilled workers as there are not enough skilled Chefs and Smallgoods Makers in Australia to cover the demand. With the changes from the 18th of March 2018 the Australian Government not only made it harder for employers to sponsor skilled overseas workers, it also takes the interest away from candidates as there is no more direct entry to become a permanent resident or even an Australian citizen.

We, the undersigned, agree and support the petition to reintroduce the occupation as Chef and Smallgoods Makers to the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List and thereby allow a direct entry scheme for those applicants to become a permanent citizen in line with the 2+2 years stream
