Bring back the early morning coach journey to London!

The National Express coach service 024 from Eastbourne to London Victoria, calling at Hailsham, Uckfield, Forest Row and East Grinstead offers passengers an excellent and economical journey to London.

The present timetable has only one daily journey to London and one journey back. Departing from Eastbourne at 10.30 arrival 13.20 For any onward connections by coach this is rather a late arrival and with less than two hours in London, (return departure 15.00), a day trip would not seem to have much point.

However, if the morning 08.00 journey was re-instated, you would have more than 7 hours in London, (arrives 10.50, return departs 18.00). A day trip to the Capital now becomes really worthwhile! Plenty of time for shopping, sightseeing, lunch, perhaps a matinee, museum or art gallery, or just a stroll along the Thames. If you’re travelling a longer distance, you could now make a much earlier connection.

The reintroduction of this service would greatly benefit people living in the towns along this route. The ever increasing cost of rail fares and the high price of petrol now more than ever show coach travel as a very good option, especially for day trips. The convenience and relaxing atmosphere of a coach is very appealing to many people.

We, the undersigned, call upon National Express to re-instate the early morning 08.00 service 024 from Eastbourne to London Victoria, calling at Hailsham, Uckfield, Forest Row and East Grinstead, together with the 18.00 evening return journey from London Victoria.
