A long time ago, on the hit long-running Nicktoon, SpongeBob SquarePants, there was a deleted scene in the season 3 episode, "Just One Bite," where Squidward triggers a burglar alarm consisting of a bucket of gasoline which is spilled, lit on fire, and then explodes. It was cut out of later airings.

The reason for the censorship was never officially announced by Nickelodeon; however, the most likely explanation for the removal was the episode aired on October 5, 2001, nearly a month after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. As in the months following the attacks, many media outlets began to either cancel, delay, delete, or censor media that contained anything resembling the attacks, terrorism, or violence.

Now, since it has been over a decade since the 9/11 attacks, the scene should return to Nick.

Dear Mr. Jeffery Dunn of Nickelodeon,

There was a deleted scene of the SpongeBob SquarePants episode, "Just One Bite," where the Krusty Krab explodes after Squidward triggers a security alarm.

It was censored for unknown reasons, but probably because the scene was similar to the September 11th attacks, which the episode aired right after.

But since it has been a long time since the 9/11 attacks, please try to work on bringing the scene back to Nickelodeon.

Sincerely,

Mr. Jacob Fogg
