Target:
Ministry of Transportation, Governor of Erbil Nawzad Hadi, Head of Traffic Police in Erbil
Region:
Iraq

Driving around Erbil can be stressful and unsafe at times. 100 Meter Road is one of the busiest streets in Erbil and people are constantly speeding (going over 80 km/h) even near residential areas. Some U-turns are poorly designed and can lead to accidents. One particular U-turn on 100m, in front of Ashti Hall near the MRF 4 Towers and Empire apartments is dangerous.
It is dangerous because there is a very important right turn, leading to English Village and Vital Village where there are many well-frequented cafes, right after the U-turn forcing people to cut through a 3-lane road.
Adding to that the fact that people often speed and overtake others on the U-turn, it makes for a very stressful and dangerous U-turn for people who live in or visit English Village, Vital Village, MRF Towers, Empire Villas and apartments,

We, the undersigned, call on the city of Erbil to either build a speed bump on 100m ahead of Ashti Hall or close the U-turn in question to protect the people.
