MPP Tom Rakocevic, Black Creek-Humber River introduced Bill 293, Nikola Tesla Day Act in the Ontario Provincial Legislature. The Bill is scheduled for 2nd reading on June 2, 2021 and if approved will follow process, and eventually if approved will receive Royal Assent and officially designate July 10 every year as Nikola Tesla Day in Ontario.
The advent of AC is inexorably linked to Ontario’s own history. Tesla’s system was used in the creation of the world’s first hydroelectric power plant at Niagara Falls. Within 25 years, every major municipality and township in Southern Ontario had access to electric power.
Today we all enjoy the luxuries and owe our lifestyle to Nikola Tesla inventions. Not a day passes that we do not use multiple of Nikola Tesla inventions in our daily lives. Let's designate July 10th, as Nikola Tesla Day so that we can advance the education of our kids and inspire them to innovate for the future.
We the undersigned, call on the Ontario Members of Provincial Parliament to pass Bill 293, the Nikola Tesla Day Act.
