We are SAFE, students active for the environment.
We want the Federal Government to change the way they rate fuel efficiency to actually reflect real world driving.
Petition to the House of Commons in Parliament Assembled
We, the undersigned residents of Canada, draw the attention of the House to the following.
The fuel economy values advertised for new vehicles do not reflect actual driving conditions for the majority of Canadian residents.
Purchasers' of "fuel efficient" vehicles are being misled by the published values which may be inaccurate by up to 50%.
Therefore, your petitioners request that Parliament change the testing method that Natural Resources Canada uses for the Fuel Consumption Guide to better reflect real world driving conditions.
