Auchinloch Community Council

United Kingdom

In 1937 Auchinloch was granted the use of the village park situated on the south side of Langmuirhead Road between the golf course and the recent Stewart Milne housing estate for a nominal rent. This land is managed by the Lenzie Estate Company, wholly owned by Lenzie Benevolent Society. The village park has held many community events since it's formation. The village park was maintained by North Lanarkshire Council until commencement of construction of the new housing estate immediate to the north of the site and can be accessed by a public right of way adjacent to the golf course.

In 2019 a survey was completed within the village and the following 5 year action action plan was created.

Theme 3 of the plan: Community Facilities & Activities details an action to 'Buy or Lease the former village park for recreational development'.

In July 2023 The Auchinloch Community Park Project was formed to reinstate this former community space as voted for by the village in the above survey. This is to enable a safe and secure place for children to play in the fresh air and participate in sport including ball games for which there is no other suitable space available in the village.

We, the undersigned, support the reinstatement of the former Village Park and support the aims of the Auchinloch Community Park Project.
