The UK Government has decided that Cancer patients claiming Employment & Support Allowance must undergo work related assessments and interviews.
We believe that very sick people undergoing debilitating and toxic treatment should not have this extra stress to deal with.
We therefore call on the Government to reverse this decision immediately.
We the undersigned recognise that radiotherapy and chemotherapy can have significant detrimental physical and mental effects on caner patients.
We therefore call on the Government to reverse the recent decision on this issue by the DWP and ensure that Cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy or chemotherapy (whether orally, by IV or other means) are not called for interview or medical assessment until their treatment has completed and its results known.
