Whereas the IRS has admitted by an internal audit that its employees unfairly gave extra scrutiny and unfair treatment to certain citizens and groups based on their political affiliation;
Whereas the employees of the IRS have not been fully forthcoming to Congress by providing facts, evidence, and witnesses;
And because the IRS is a powerful federal agency able to seize assets, garnish wages, and subject people and groups to audit, harassment, and ruin all without a court order:
A Special Prosecutor should be appointed by the Attorney General, being independent from the Department of Justice and having the ability to investigate criminal use of IRS power for political ends, charge criminally culpable IRS employees, and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law anyone who would abuse the power of the IRS against the people of the United States.
