The U.A.E. Government, due to COVID-19, has decided to close the country's borders on the 19th March 2020, without sufficient notice to its residents that were abroad.

While we understand, praise and appreciate all of the actions taken by the government to help prevent the spread and control the threat of the COVID-19, such as the mass sterilisation campaign, public spaces closure, social restrictions, and many other such efforts; and we understand that the U.A.E. government needed time to create a well structured plan of action, to set policies & procedures for this challenging time - which has been efficiently achieved in the course of this month - we feel that it's now time to consider allowing residents to be reunited with their families.

From what was broadcast in the news we see that Emirates and Etihad crews are wearing PPE - Preventive Protection Equipment, that Emirates is conducting pre-boarding virus tests, and that many of the hotels were turned into quarantine facilities, so we ask - why not allow residents back in if we can:

1) Be tested before flying;
2) Maintain social distancing rules during the flight: and even
3) Be placed into quarantine upon arrival, to ensure safety of the overall population?

In a special time such as Ramadan, we should not be separated from our own.

We respectfully request that the U.A.E. Government considers our request to open the borders to valid residence visa holders and allows our return to the country following pre-boarding tests, strict travel safety guidelines, and quarantine of 14 days upon arrival, so that we can return to our homes and our families.

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that the U.A.E. Government considers our request to open the borders to valid residence visa holders, allowing us to reunite with our families, following the below conditions:

1) Be tested before flying;
2) Flying only with Emirates and Etihad and maintaining social distancing rules during the flight; and
3) Be placed into 14 days quarantine in a Hotel upon arrival, to ensure safety of the overall population, before going to our homes.

Thankfully
