At present you are not allowed to take your child or children out of school during term time for a annual holiday unless it's during school holidays.
The majority of parents can not afford to do this as the prices are so high during the school holidays (classed as peak season by tour operators).
It's ok for the government to set these rules as it does not really effect them what with all the money they earn but for an average family this is very difficult to budget for with many children not ever having a proper holiday.
This can be a great time to bring families closer together without the distractions of everyday life and for children to be children.
We, the undersigned, petition for families to be allowed to take their children out of school for a maximum of two weeks to go on an annual holiday without fear of being penalised by the child's school.
