Allow opposite sex in dorms

We as students are all responsible enough and old enough that we should be allowed to have the opposite sex in our dorm towers. I am not sure what the point of having RA's and RD's on pay roll is, if you do not give them the job of monitoring dorms. I believe that only on weekends (Saturday-Sunday) from 12-8. That the opposite sex should be able to hangout with each other with the same rules as open dorms. This is not just a cry to spend time with girlfriends and fiancee's, this is just a petition to not be boxed in. There have been many occasions with groups of friends where they just would like to hangout and just watch a movie or play video games or even work on homework with each other and so you are no longer left with any options to hangout as many of the lobbies are overcrowded and loud. Many staff members here were once students here and they know that weekends are very boring and limited. There should be a chance given to be able to hangout with friends. Instead of boxing us in and treating us like children.

I believe this could be done by having a sign in sheet for each RA. That way the RA is notified anytime there is some one in the dorm and should leave some collateral (keys, wallet, ID, etc). We as adults should be taught accountability for our actions, if anyone was to abuse this privilege they would simply lose their right to hangout in opposite dorms.
