Allow dogs on public transport in Australia

Cities in Europe and the UK allow dogs on public transport, why not Australia?

Some places in Melbourne allow public transport for dogs but a percentage of the country do not.

Have you ever thought what it's like to not be able to take your dog to the vet because you cannot drive?

Some people cannot drive because of health issues etc. They have no way of taking their dog to the vet or taking him to a fun dog park. They are missing out!

If dogs were allowed on public transport it would give the independence to both the owner and the dog, most people want to be able to take their dog to a doggy-friendly beach or to a fun day out, some are lucky enough to drive but what about the ones that can't?

People think dogs are bad behaved, But have you ever thought of yourself? People screaming and yelling, swearing, putting their feet on the chair and sometimes being violent, I think a dog would be better behaved.

What about screaming and crying children who cannot be controlled? A dog would be a good distraction and would calm and quieten the child.

There is no reason why a well mannered and clean dog should not be allowed on public transport...
