The use of cast nets for retrieving bait is a cost effective way for everyone to enjoy fishing without the high price tag of buying bait. Clearwater, Florida has imposed a rule that restricts the use of cast nets at the Drew Street Fishing Pier.
This forces most fisherman and women to purchase more expensive, less effective bait from bait shops not located close to the pier.
We, the undersigned, call on the Clearwater, Florida mayor and city council to eliminate the "no cast net" rule at the Drew Street Fishing Pier.
