An “A” board must be located on the property of the business or services being
advertised. You may have one sign for every 25 feet of property frontage
but they cannot be within 10 feet of a driveway or other access point. Any
sign located on a sidewalk must provide at least 5 feet of sidewalk clearance
for wheelchair and walking access.
As the "A"board code currently is written, no "A"board is compliant in the city of Stanwood. Our side walks are not wide enough to have an "A"board on them. Most "A"boards are at driveways or streets to direct potential business. This by definition isn't permitted either.
I am seeking an amended "A"board code. To allow for 1 (one) "A"board to be placed at an entrance; doorway, driveway or street corner. To help direct customers to a business.
