Jerusalem and Al Aqsa sanctuary belong to the Palestinians

We the undersigned reject all claims made by Israel in relation to the city of Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Sanctuary.

Israel's presence in Jerusalem is a flagrant breach of international law and an obstacle to peace between the Israelis and Palestinians.

The United Nations has consistently condemned Israel for enforcing its authority in Palestinian Territories.

UN Resolution 242 considers Israel as an occupying force. Additionally, the body has repeatedly reaffirmed that Israel immediately and completely ceases all settlement activities.

In reaction to Donald Trump's declaration of Jerusalem as Israel's capital city, the UN General Assembly commenced an emergency session and unanimously voted against his decision.

We concur with international law and the UN that Israel is an illegal occupying power of the Palestinian Territories.

The city of Jerusalem has had international status since Israel's creation; it does not entirely belong to Israel and the Israeli government has no right to claim nor assert its authority over it.

Jerusalem is a Holy City. It cannot be bargained away by any individual or nation, Arab or non-Arab, and must be rightly returned to the Palestinians forthwith.
