Because of the fact that more middle school students are having cell phones. We believe that cell phones should be allowed. There would be less reason to use the office phone.
Students would use the phones only during passing periods and lunch. If they needed to call and remind about tutorials, detention, or any after school event. They could also call if they forgot homework, thus dropping the act of being behind. If a student is sick they could call a friend that is in their class to get an assignment, and again, not be left behind at school.
If a student was to use the phone during class for any reason the school/district would decide what action to take.
We, the undersigned, believe that cell phones should be allowed for Jr. High Students.
