The Isle of Man interim census has been sent out this week. Question 8 asks the persons nationality – the options available are: British, Irish, Polish, Filipino, South African, Portuguese, German or Other.
As a Manx born person with Manx parents and grandparents, it seems outrageous that on an Isle of Man census, there is no option for Manx as a nationality!
When I complete my form, I will be ticking other and in the comments stating MANX!
We, the undersigned, call for the Isle of Man Government to add a Manx nationality option to any future census.
