Of the 158 public parks in the City of Pittsburgh, only five receive dedicated Regional Asset District (RAD) funding for projects such as restroom improvements, pavilion repair, and accessibility enhancements. This funding, which amounts to one-half of 1% of the Allegheny County Sales and Use Tax, is divided among these five city parks, other county and regional parks, public libraries and many of Pittsburgh's incredible cultural amenities.

Right now, you can tell the City of Pittsburgh that your parks should be a higher funding priority. Submit an idea on behalf of your favorite park places for the 2018 Capital Budget today.

The City is asking residents to submit ideas for Capital Projects, which they define as a project funded by public monies to design, build, or restore City-owned assets that provide a longterm public benefit (note: this would not include funding for park rangers). Examples of Capital Projects could be:

Repaving a cracked basketball court in your neighborhood park

Making a playground entrance more wheelchair accessible

Adding trail signs and maps where needed
Installing more recycling bins near baseball fields

Incorporating green infrastructure into parks to address regional stormwater issues
Three ways to submit a Capital Project idea on behalf of your parks

1. Submit your idea through the form below. The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy will compile and submit all comments directly to the City of Pittsburgh.

2. Attend one of the two Capital Budget Deliberative Forums, where City officials will be collecting ideas.

June 8 | 6 - 8:30 PM | Tree of Life Church, 1036 Brookline Blvd, 15226

June 14 | 6 - 8:30PM | Third Presbyterian Church, 5701 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh PA 15232

3. Post your idea on the City's online MindMixer forum.
