Easter this year, two passengers had their 5 bull terriers removed from a flight. The passengers were not even told about this - they landed interstate expecting their dogs to be with them. The Airline staff had incorrectly identified the dogs as American pit bull terriers, a breed which they have banned the carriage of.
As well as putting the animal's welfare at great risk, the airline's breed ban clearly does not work and should instead be replaced with stringent regulations on acceptable dog crates.
We, the undersigned, want airlines to abolish bans on the carriage of certain dog breeds, and instead have stringent dog crate requirements in place.
