A petition for A & E Unit needed at Ystrad Fawr Hospital and to also scrap the South Wales Plan for the NHS that would leave us with only 4-5 A&Es from Llanelli to Chepstow.
Since the closure of the A & E unit at Caerphilly Miners many people have been disappointed by the care, or lack of, that they received at Ystrad Mynach Hospital.
Many have been sat there for hours to be told they need to go elsewhere, as they don't have the facilities. No transport was provided to the suggested hospitals, regardless of injury, illness or lack of funds of the patient.
Many are upset that a lot of money has been spent on this hospital and yet there are less local care facilities than were available when the Caerphilly Miners was open.
We believe there should be a doctor led 24 hour A & E unit at Ystrad Mynach Hospital as every second counts and should not be wasted being passed from one hospital to the next.
We, the undersigned, call on the Aneurin Bevan Health Trust to provide a 24-hour, doctor-led A & E Unit at Ystrad Mynach Hospital and to scrap the South Wales Plan for the NHS, that would only leave us with 4-5 A&Es from Llanelli to Chepstow.
