4 way Stop on Greenstone Drive

We the residents of Emerald Estate and Bushwillow Park Estate are aware that there have been historical engagements with the relevant authorities (Johannesburg Roads Agency) with regards to traffic calming measures at the entrances of Emerald Estate and Bushwillow Park Estate onto Greenstone Drive - which is an extremely dangerous and busy intersection for entry and egress from aforementioned Estates.

The 4 lane road is separated by a centre island, and the two aforementioned Estates are directly across from one another, each also comprising 2 entry and 2 exit lanes. As a result, amalgamating these total of 16 lanes of traffic into or off of Greenstone Drive without a Stop sign is simply put, dangerous. In addition, Greenstone Drive is commonly used as a thoroughfare for trucks and courier vehicles connecting to O.R Thambo via Sebenza,

We kindly request the City and JRA to consider revisiting the request for proposed 4 way stop. The HOA's of both these Estate's have agreed to pay for the installation of a 4 way Stop at this intersection in order to improve access and egress, and to minimise accidents in this intersection. The number of recorded accidents at this intersection, coupled to the high speed and reckless driving are becoming alarming. The entrance and exits to the estates along this road are becoming increasingly difficult and dangerous to use and we therefore request that something is done to avoid further casualties.
