Girl petitions 'Extreme Makeover' to help Faribault family

What started as a 10-year-old girl's experiment is giving a Faribault family hope they'll soon build a larger home.

The Van Orso family's son Andrew was born with severe disabilities, and as he's grown older their house seems to be getting smaller everyday.

So the Van Orsos sent an application into ABC's 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' and have gotten a call back. Now they need help convincing producers to pick them.

That's where 10-year-old Frankie McCintyre comes in;  it was her idea to start an online petition.

Well over 3,000 signatures later, the family is still amazed by the response the petition is getting.

"Just to look at all of the people who have signed and wrote all the good things about this family, it's just wonderful," Frankie said.
