Humans have a right to a decent life, we now have the technology to provide that - provided the benefits of technology are used equitably.

I call for an 'economy' of effort, where work is done by machines and learning is done by people unless they individually wish it otherwise . Society must be reorganised to expect growth in quality and not size with physical products being repaired, re-purposed and finally taken apart for reuse. Energy requirements could be fulfilled by renewable sources far more easily once the waste demanded by a consumer based paradigm has been carefully phased out. The waste of human resources is the greatest waste we know, but unless as a planet we grasp the future sanely, we will all have nothing to provide any 'benefit' of any type to anyone.

Supporting this petition is not a step towards that goal, it is an attempt to prevent us walking away from it.

My daughter has not been a burden to this county, In fact she is a key worker.. but it looks likely that we will have to move outside the area we live in eventually to find cheaper more affordable housing and that means she will probably lose the job she loves and all the money thats been spent on her training and education and her expertise will be lost to this borough and she'll probably end up in a worse paid job and more dependent.. how is this helping people in work? It will put low wage earners out of work.. and a burden onsocial services and other resources where housing is cheaper and only those able to buy to rent will prosper..
