Gloucester city are only taking certain recycling items - if they take other things such as foil, other plastic containers this would reduce the need for weekly bins but as they refuse to, Gloucester needs the weekly service back - they need to review their own policies!

Has GCC let everyone know that if they have 6 or more people living in a house they can get a larger bin. That may ease the problem for some. I had to ring GCC to find out.

Yes and good luck - the government has pulled the rug from under the target driven culture. Council decisions had little to do with achieving any real reduction in cost or carbon emissions - the food waste service is inefficient and costly and does not save overall cost of disposal.

The paid green waste collection service is in reality "The great Gloucester waste collection rip off" and now Paul James is indicating that the people of Gloucester don't want a return to weekly waste collection. What a load of rubbish. We have a chance to bring some sanity back into the waste collection service, to be paid for by the government. We should grab it with both hands.

I believe that weekly household waste collections will make the City a cleaner and healthier place. It will also reduce the number of vehicles taking waste to the collection point in Hempsted.
