Mr Nicholas Ruddock, England
What a wonderful display to honour the losses in the WW1. I much prefer this display than the empty moat, which living in London, I pass fairly frequently. I love poppies, and these ones are ceramically beautiful and pricey. Nevertheless so many people contributed in order to support the disabled. Many congratulations.
I would prefer that the poppies remain as long as possible. Since people bought these to be returned to them, they cannot be left in situ. A shame but a contractural reason. Could we not keep the display at least until the New Year, or until the Anniversary in August 2015, the end of the 100th anniversary year from 1914.

Ms Lynette McDermott, United Kingdom
To wear a poppy is a sign of respect. We are respecting those who have given their lives for their country and respecting those who are serving their country now. It is my belief that without these sacrifices our lives would be so different and we should be Thankful to them for giving so much. My Great Grandfather fought in the First and Second World Wars and lost his life in the Second World War in Italy. If by displaying a poppy it shows that I am grateful to him for giving his life then give me the biggest poppy so that he can see it from Heaven.
I work with children and I am also a Civilian Instructor with the Air Cadets. We ensure that we tell the children and the Air Cadets the importance of Poppies and the reasoning behind us wearing a poppy and the reasoning behind the poppy appeal. Within the Air Cadets we collect for the Poppy Appeal and also do the Remembrance Day parade to show our respect. I attend all as I am very proud of our Armed Forces.
I have displayed my poppy with pride every year since I was little and have NEVER been asked to remove it. We should all have the freedom to wear a poppy with pride.

Every year on November 11, Canadians pause in a silent moment of remembrance for the men and women who have served, and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace. We honour those who fought for Canada in the First World War (1914-1918), the Second World War (1939-1945), and the Korean War (1950-1953), as well as those who have served since then. More than 1,500,000 Canadians have served our country in this way, and more than 100,000 have died. They gave their lives and their futures so that we may live in peace.

Why Remember?

We must remember. If we do not, the sacrifice of those one hundred thousand Canadian lives will be meaningless. They died for us, for their homes and families and friends, for a collection of traditions they cherished and a future they believed in; they died for Canada. The meaning of their sacrifice rests with our collective national consciousness; our future is their monument.

These wars touched the lives of Canadians of all ages, all races, all social c

The Poppy is the symbol of the “Eternal” the remembrance, the greatest symbol of remembrance we can give.
"Lest we forget" is the slogan, it reminds us to remember, not the sacrifices of the military as a whole but the ULTIMATE sacrifice made by those who have, in the course of action become lost or captured by the enemy, and we should never forget that. They deserve that we remember and honour them. A simply POPPY is the least

Mrs Tracey Fleming
We need to be proud of the sacrifices others have made for us to live in the world we do. We can do this by wearing the poppy and remembering them. It's improtant we don't let companies take this away from us. Don't give them that option. As individuals we can choose if we want to wear a poppy or not but it shouldn't be dictated to us except obviously, for health and safety reasons.

Mr John Cunnion, Solihull, West Midlands, United Kingdom
Proud to be British, and also patriotic. The poppy is not part of any uniform. It is part of our heritage and history. This symbolises the true meaning why we can all live as free people around the world today and shows we care for our fallen heroes. Any person that challenges the wearing of this small flower or symbol needs to be reminded and re-educated of its true meaning
