Our charity is called Starfish Project of Richland County. We can't move people without making sure they have been properly detoxed. Several of the medicaid options no longer pay for detox as they have decided it is an ambulatory process. Between that and the lack of available beds, many people who want help are struggling and dying. Please require United Health Care and Buckeye options under Medicaid to cover detox beds and help us get more detox facilities - there are NONE in our county.
