The school has been there and people parking along that street since about 1974. I know this because I have lived here since about 1959. People who have purchased homes in the areas of interest knew when they did so that there was a high school across the street. Deal with it. I have never encountered a problem with people parking there.

Elimination of all parking creates an unecessary burden for users of the fields.

It is not reasonable to expect all users to park in the school parking lot and walk from the far end of the building to the fields. There are direct accessible paths or walks.

A parking restriction here would result in a taking away of field access/use from some in the public.

Warrior is a public road and should be used by the public. There is absolutely no where else for them to park. Should they take the bus and increase district costs that way??? This is crazy! It allows many students who can't afford a parking pass to drive to school. Many of these students are driving to school in order to participate in clubs and extra curricular activities that meet before or after school. Many of these activities require transportation outside of what these district can provide. A number of the students that park on Warrior do not park there every day. There is also a shortage of parking spaces in the main lot at Sibley. If parking on Warrior Drive were revoked and many students did buy parking passes, they would not all fit in the lot. Warrior Drive is a necessity because it allows many students to participate in activities they would not be able to otherwise.

If students have no where to park, they can't drive to school and many parents cannot drive them because of work. Students will be limited in what extra curricular activities they can choose, as many clubs meet before school and they also won't have the option of seeking extra help during teacher office hours which are often before school. There are also many extra curriculars which occur outside of the activity bus hours in the evening. Sibley HS has a culture of respect and these neighbors have nothing to worry about. Student parking on Warrior does not negatively effect them in any way. All of these people are blessed with beautiful homes and ample sheltered, (garages) and off street parking. I fail to see what they gain by limiting access to students. Warrior drive is for everyone.

That being said, I personally will not want to pay that much for a parking pass I will not use every day. Warrior Drive makes it possible for me to drive to school on the days that I get a car, and not waste my money on a parking space I won't use all the time. Not to mention, I don't think there are enough parking spaces for every single person that drives to school to park in the lot.

I speak for the families who do not have the extra money to park in the school parking lot. Additionally the space restrictions in the lot make it necessary to have extra space on the street to park. I have driven my kids to school many times and the cars parked on warrior seem to be posing no issues whatsoever to the residents in the area!

When you live near a school, COMMON SENSE tells you that during the school year you may have to deal with extra cars.
