Indeed it would be preferable if our trains no longer stopped at Sunbury at all. We must petition the politicians to re-route the train line such that it avoids the scourge of Sunbury all together.

My brothers and sisters this is about more than just trains. We should stand together and rid ourselves of the scourge of Sunbury. Lets cease doing business in Sunbury and keep those vulgar people from Sunbury out of our towns.

Both the previous (Labor) minister and the current minister for transport stated in parliament and in the press that Sunbury passengers can still use the Vline service.
So the rules and intentions are clear. Sunbury passengers can still use the country trains.
Since the changeover I have used the Vline service to get home to Sunbury twice, the first time three people got off, the second only me, hardly an "abuse" of the System. I have a yearly ticket, as most regular Sunbury travellers do.
I agree that the Vline trains are more comfortable, tidier, friendlier (well they used to be) and they have facilities that Met trains don't have, which is important for some now that the trip times have increased for EVERYONE.
And to Sir DH: your comments don't help.

1. For the educated refer 'Hansard' dated 23 November 2012 where-in the Transport Minister (Terry Mulder) is quoted as saying in the Victorian Parliament that "The simple fact of the matter is that Sunbury commuters will have access to both V-Line and metropolitan services." and "We are offering a dual service".
Now what is said is consistent with what was the official position prior to electrification (ie Don't worry Sunbury commuters will still have access to V-Line Services). So the Government has followed through on a commitment - we should be applauding Terry Mulder not complaining.
2. If you travel to Sunbury with a Myki you are not a fare evader because you don't tap off in Sunbury. The informed traveller will know that so long as you tap on then whether or not you tap off you are charged for Zone 2 travel - get over it. Or perhaps, I might have an annual Myki - which in fact I do. I tap on in March each year and it starts day one - end of story until 365 days later - at least that's what the Authorised Officers agree is the case.
3. The Sunbury Station staff say that Sunbury Communters can travel on any V-Line train.

The 0518 up train from Kyneton all passengers must purchase a ticket (even though it gets into Southern Cross before 0700 hrs), but Sunbury passengers who get on with a myki get free travel. Can the minister please explain this inequity?
