Our Son lives in Goostrey, he moved to the village from Manchester wishing to raise his newborn son in a quiet rural village, like the one in West Lancs were we raised him.

We have seen the gradual degrading of rural quality of life in our own West Lancs rural village of Roby Mill due to the creep of housing from neighbouring Wigan and Skelmersdale and a recent large housing development. It is sad to see that some people in Lancashire and Cheshire are always wanting to push private profit schemes over and above health and safety and quality of life for all rural residents.

Village roads were not designed for HGV traffic, and the primary school in Goostrey where our grandson will attend in the future is far too close to this site for guaranteed health and safety of little children - both in terms of HGV traffic driving past the school on narrow roads, and the airbourn smells and discharges next to the school playfields.

Please Cheshire East, as visitors from outside the county from another rural gem in the North West, do not allow a lovely rural Cheshire village to be ruined for all who live and visit there.

My name is Harvey Johnson - I am 11 Months Old.

My Mum and Dad moved to Goostrey to send me to the Goostrey Primary School when I get older.

I won't feel safe with HGV traffic flying past my school - especially when I have to move between the school buildings.

When we play out on the school fields we won't be certain we are without health risks from the power plant next door, and the smells in summer could be really bad near our school.

No to this industrial waste plant - If the plan goes ahead, who knows what big company may want to buy the plant and ramp up the scale of the operation.

Please Cheshire East: Say no to the ruin of quiet village life in Twemlow and Goostrey!
This is too close to houses in twemlow, and to the school in Goostrey!

I assume the local company running the plant would immediately go into liquidation (no pun intended) in event of a serious environmental pollution issue, particularly if involving personal injury or health. Would the poor old taxpayers of Cheshire East be liable in any way? - particularly if the planning dept. were seen to have approved this application so close to so many existing dwellings.

I remain unconvinced by the proposal's forecasts of traffic volumes. These numbers do not acknowledge the seasonal variances in the to and from farm movements.

In the absence of universal support from the local farming community (which must be significant) then the plant will anyway likely be reliant on food waste for its efficient operation. This to come from as yet unspecified sources, and therefore impact on traffic movements purely speculative.

I believe it is more appropriate to view this foremost as a food waste processing plant, and in that case it would be difficult to find a more unsuitable location. The apparent ambition to replace the proposed Middlewich site rather gives the game away about the real intent from CRES

Yet the village is busy with lorries running through as it is which is ruining thee foundations of our church a plant close by would be monstrous with extra road loads horrible smell . I would say it would bring more jobs but I seriously doubt it

The tiny hamlet of Twemlow is the wrong place. This would also affect residents in Goostrey and Homes Chapel with emissions falling within a 2 mile radius due to the height of the stack. It will also increase traffic throughout the area on narrow, country roads.

The risks associated with these facilities and the local disruption that the operation will cause are huge and cannot be justified. This sort of facility would be better placed on an existing refuse site eg Macclesfield refuse tip where there are no residents nearby.
