Are there problems that are created by people becoming addicted to gambling? Yes! There are also problems with Alcohol addiction but few people want to go back to prohibition. Besides the problem already exist with some people to travel outside Texas to feed their addiction. The only difference is Texas does not benefit financially from Texas gambling addictions that occur in other states. One cannot legislate morality. We have tried and failed with a boat load of unintended consequences.
