David Carpenter, Barton-on-Sea
Long Meadow is not the right place for a play area. When there are other options, it is just not right for the town council to want to destroy this beauty spot's natural character by building this fake structure within it. My other concern is that once built it will either not be used and therefore rot away in an ugly manner, or just be a hang out for trouble makers. Whatever, this lovely spot will be ruined. Most local people I know just don't want it. Why won't the council listen to that?

I appeal to the local authority to leave Barton as it is. Long Meadow at present is enjoyed by LOCAL residents ( of ALL AGES) in a safe environment.
In my opinion this development would create MORE NOISE, MORE TRAFFIC and LITTER spoiling the pleasure of existing users. The majority of Barton residents chose to live in Barton for the existing environment .

joyce parker, barton on sea
What has happened to the concept of democracy? The vast majority of residents that took part in the last survey said that this was an emotional and physical non-starter. Why has the majority voice not been listened to? Why has this unpopular plan been mooted when the financial climate is so vicarious? Perhaps a new breed of councillor is needed, one who will put the needs and wants of the community first rather than follow their own personal agenda. Coincidentally, an election is imminent.

For children it provides safe space for physical and imaginative play. (Man made play parks can be unsafe dangerous places especially if unsupervised )
For all age groups our meadow (as it is ) provides peace and tranquillity for dog walking, picnics bird watching or whatever. This area is unique space. Why spend money spoiling it?
