Anonymous, Columbus, Ohio, United States of America
Drug testing is a clear violation of unreasonable searches and seizures. What people decide to do on or off the job should have no bearing on whether or not they can be employed. If an employer finds someone doing illicit activity of any kind, the employee can be fired, regardless of activities prior to hired hours. Drug testing is stupid and serves no purpose other than to line the pockets of those in power and is unconstitutional on every single level. Stop it.

Tyler Corzette, Bettendorf, Iowa, United States of America
I believe that pre-employment drug screens do not stop drug use in the work place. Drugs such as methamphetamine and cocaine are rarely found because they can be easily flushed from the human body in 24 hours or less. However, marijuana, which many U.S. citizens condone and support the legalization and recreational use of, used as far back as 30 days prior to the drug screen can be found with urinary analysis. It is for this reason that pre-employment drug screens do not stop the use of most drugs in the work place, but unfairly discriminates against one very large group of recreational smokers.

Anonymous, Washington, MI, United States of America
It is an invasion of privacy and a discrimination against people with a shy bladder to be forced (if they can manage it) to take a urine drug test. To be given 4 minutes to produce while the tester is right there or just outside the door is both cruel and unusual torture. If you can't understand this then you need to check your soul.

Justyn Gover, Gainesville, Florida, United States of America
I don't do drugs but, I am stuck living in the same room as someone who does smoke weed. I am next to homeless leaching off of my roommate. I need a job but, I can't get one because I am stuck sharing a room with a pot head that smokes every single day and, I can't pass a drug test because of it. I could move out and, live on the streets but, hay guess the fuck what. Not a single person would hire me be because I would't be able to shower, besides its not your damn body, so what makes you think you have the right to say these people are wrong and, just think people that do smoke pot would be able to get a job a pay taxes go home smoke and, sit on there couch for the next 16 hours.

James Mo, Beverly, MA, United States of America
I feel that it is hypocritical of a society to boast of freedom and the pursuit of one's own desires and then condemn particular desires as harmful to one's own well being through arbitrary laws and protocols of which have no credibility through empirical research. If I choose to enjoy cannabis at home without infringing upon by work duties, that should be my privilege and right-if I'm not creating harm to myself, the welfare of others, or the integrity of my employment than all I see is a bureaucratic farce implemented to the highest degree of bias politics and antiquated puritanism.

I am a marijuana smoker and cannot find a job anywhere, even bagging groceries, (a job a stoned monkey could do), without a drug test first. This is ridiculous and is nothing more than discrimination. Business does not have the right to tell you what you can and can't do outside of work.
