In light of recent issues with changes in the train timetable it is obvious that there is no spare capacity as it is and it is hardly 'eco' to build on greenfield sites either!

The land is subject to flooding and the road inrastructure etc is already over stretched. If I had wanted to live in a large conurbation I would have moved to one. Having so many houses built over agricultural land is far from eco friendly. I also believe that we do not have the infrastructure to support such a vast number of houses. You can't just build it in it has to grow over time. The roads are bad enough around here, with so many more houses it would be unbearable.
