Bexley is a very large borough and to close any part or any service of Queen Mary's Hospital will put a greater strain on resources at other hospitals especially the units with recognised good practice such as the Speech Unit.

I have lived in Sidcup for nearly 13 years now and have always been pleased with the service and care at Queen Mary's Hospital. I had a sister who died from Breast Cancer after being misdiagnosed by a hospital in Newcastle however my other sister who lived at Swanley at the time she discovered a lump was sent to Queen Mary's Hospital where she was tested and diagnosed the same day and operated on two weeks later and is still a survivor five years on. What more can I say.
