Myself and other family members and friends learnt to swim there, as it enabled us to gradually walk into to the water until we felt confident. No other pools in our area allow this. My brother in particular was very scared of the water in other pools he screamed. Here the gradual entry into the pool enabled him to over come his fears. As an adult he is now a confident swimmer, would this have happened without Plas Madoc, I think not. with a young baby of his own who he wanted to teach to swim, where is he going to go?

What are the young people of the area supposed to do? We all know many families in the area are financially challenged - bus fares to another leisure facility will be prohibitive. Can the Council not approve a plan that would give both Wrexham and Plas Madoc improved but basic leisure centres - why does Wrexham need "state of the art"?
Surely if the cuts in the future will be as swingeing as reported at the Executive meeting a "state of the art" facility will become unaffordable very quickly.

I have learned invaluable lessons there that have helped me make my life a lot better than it could have been. Now my children use the facilities there and you are denying them of all the possibilities that I had. I do not understand how they can say it is costing money when it is always busy. The people who are making these decisions are clearly unaware of the ramifications their actions will have on the local youth and are entirely money focused. We should be upgrading the facilities not replacing them with more old people flats, and the executive committee needs to give their pips a wobble and wake up to the real needs of the real people of Wrexham. Regardless of party politics, everyone should ensure that vital services, such as our leisure facilities, are maintained and where possible, improved upon.

If the council does not listen, then why should the people take any notice of them and their so-called 'authority'?
