Mrs Nancy Dronek, San Martin, CA
Without the SCC Fairgrounds, we all will be depriving our youth and future farmers of the exposure to the greenest occupations in existence. I can't believe that in our area, one in which farming has such an important history, we are losing such a valuable venue. Please stop and think about where you will get your food in the future and at what cost?

Mrs. Sue Cancilla-Conde
I took my fear biting dog to training at the Fairground and she is not a loving safe pet. she goes everywhere with us. I have visited traveling tigers resting at the Fairgrounds on their way to another event. Where will those tigers rest next time they come through our city? Where will all those kids go to ride their bikes and play paint ball. Both sports teach the kids responsibility and the value of the dollar. do not take the fairgrounds away from us. You have no right.

Anonymous, San Jose, CA
The Fairgrounds is very important to SC County as a less expensive multiuse venue. Groups, such as 4-H, dog training, RV Shows, etc. do not fit well and cannot afford sites like HP Pavilion. We need space with grass and trees and buildings, not one more development. Please keep the Fairgrounds out of the hands of developers and in the hands of your constituents.

Mary Alexander, San Jose
As show promoters in a down economy, we need the fairgrounds to help support our family. We cannot afford to rent other facilities in this high-priced area. Also, we need to add more diversity to the use of the grounds by adding other shows, events, etc. We are planning to bring more events to the grounds to help both us and the public. We need a variety of events for everyone. Don't let anyone take away what was given to the people. Let's hear from everyone. Please save our fairgrounds!

Chris Lepe, CA
The privatization of public land is an extension of neoliberal policies that have been led by the drive for efficiency and profit maximization. You hear this in code when people state “this is underutilized land” for parcels that do not generate enough direct revenues for government and corporate interests. People need other things besides increased revenue generation from the Fairgrounds. How about a place for recreation/social interaction/the free expression of ideas/cultural festivities?

Ms Patricia Colombe, San Jose, CA
As SC County continues to experience substantial population growth, a major venue for community events becomes ever more vital. More people equal more need, not less. The Fairgrounds was established as a place for SC County residents to share relevant experiences, to be entertained and educated and to have opportunities for bonding among individuals and varied groups. If the classic Fair does not adequately serve this purpose any longer, there are many other community building events that do.
