I heard that a half-dozen families in the area pushed the Vista Pointe Ridge Board to do this, appealing to environmental concerns. Yes, I too want to save water but not at the cost of completely ruining the aesthetics of our neighborhood. I like the fact that the trees hide my neighbor's houses down the slope and up the slope. Trees and large foilage are beautiful and reduce greenhouse gasses as well as prevent soil erosion. Do not make these changes !!!

The areas of planting in the park either have bare spots that never seem to get filled in or there are weeds 3 and 4 feet high that are left for years. I doubt this change is a benefit, when the landscape we have now is not properly maintained. I think we need to improve what we have now, including trees and grass, and maintain it properly.

There are plants growing below the pines, and their roots are doing a great job of providing structure to the slopes. No interplanting between the mature shrubs has been done, and the solution is to cut them off at the ground and plant small plants, this is job creation on a grand scale.
