He was diagnosised with a similar disorder (carpenters syndrome) when he was 1. He received treatment and early intervention when he was 1 1/2. My son is now 14 and with hard work will be able to live a loving and productive life. Good luck to all those parents with children who have BBS. Remember keep loving your children and never give up helping them. I always tell my son never give up you can do anything you want it just might take you longer then others to learn what that might be. God Bless

Our dr frightened us so much and it was the worst decision we made but the drs said we had a week to decide but they scheduled me for surgery the next day while my head was still spinning over a diagnoses that no one knew anything about. I am mad at the drs, angry at myself and if I had the info I do now on bbs there would never have been a termination. we are focussing on our son now and trying to gain info and help him to lead a life free of as much pain and upset as we can. This disease robbed me of a sibling for my son made me regret my decision and there needs to be research done so other don't have to go through what we did!!

Money should NOT be an obstacle when it comes to mother and child. Shame on the UK for their appalling stillbirth/baby loss rates. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would return home with empty arms.
