I am a current user and hate to think that future amputees like me would never get the first class attention in a place where you get one on one rehab in lush surroundings and excellent staff. You will most definitely lose my vote and so many others who have used this facility currently and in the past. We dont want to sit in a depressing concrete jungle which would slow down our healing process. Leave Hampstead alone.

The community needs the centre and it has proved itself over the years. It looked after my father in his final months, and I have nothing but praise for all that work there and the facility itself.

Hampstead is a dedicated rehab centre and does a brilliant job in rehab and is more central for all suburbs than Woodville. Already one ward has been closed down, yet there is a need for extra wards for spinal injuries.

Hampstead should remain as a rehab centre and funds made available to upgrade. Garden and surrounds are a great asset for people in often long term rehab.

There needs to be much public consultation before even a propsal is iput in place, Health Professionals, employee of HRC all need to be given a chance to have their say.
This is a monumental move and we need to be sure we get it right. A full review of rehabilitaion services in SA need to be done to ensure any changes are for the better not the worse.

I cannot see how the specialist facilities at HRC can be absorbed into an acute hospital. Not enough space, how about the pool (also used by community) space and roadways for teaching driving and wheelchair skills etc. Rehabilitation clients need to be looked after outside the acute hospital setting to prepare them for their return to the community, get rid of the "sickness" role. What about all the specialist staff that are required, the physio,OT gyms etc, will they be provided for at another site?

My eldest son was in Hampstead Rehab after a horrific accident at work.He could not have recieved better treatment.The Dr,s and staff were the very best.
He was there for 12 months in the spinal unit.
Please do not close it down as they are very best.We have alot to thank them for.
Unless you have been there or a family member has you will only have read about it.
From a very greatfull parent it is the very best
I know there are no words that can express our thanks to the wonderfull staff and Dr,s for what they did for my son.

Disabled people have the least ability to track all over the city to find help and treatment. They are used to having it at Northfield, please keep it there!

My daughter will deteriorate and be a huge burden on the tax payer without hampstead rehab and support. She is only one of many. A society is judged by how it treats and cares for its most vulnerable citizens.shame on you for even considering closure of such a facility

Hampstead is a very valuable centre to thousands of clients in the Northeast. It's location is perfect for them who have based their lives around the centre.

Moving it is not only a waste of money, but very distressing for all who depend on its location.

The staff and facilities are tried, tested and second to none!

Do up what you have rather than start from scratch.

Please Keep this place going, it does not belong as part of a hospital. The staff have so much specialist knowledge. The beds and waiting lists are always full so how can anyone question the fact that that Hampstead Rehab needs to continue. It actually needs more money to go into the place. UPDATE IT before some you know needs rehabilitation
