It is also a nature reserve and building on that will destroy many animals and birds homes, leaving them with no where else to go. Also where will the money come from when we are in a recession? The council have had to make people redundant from necessary services, yet they have enough money spare to build a stadium?

I am a keen Football fan and believe that the stadium where it presently stands is far better for restaurants, pubs, road access and facilities.

If the stadium is moved it would be far more traffic in an already built up area and dangerous to families and people living in the surrounding area. It will traffic congestion and unnecessary stress to wildlife within that area.

To build unnecessarily a football stadium which is ideally situated where it is is a waste of public money.

Wildlife will be badly affected. Traffic will become intolerable and the area will become another built up area where children will lose the opportunity to learn about nature and getting fit by walking and cycling.

The community will again be lost.

The football stadium where it presently is has access to all

Nottingham Forest Ground is ideally suited in that it has access to main roads. People can be home in no time and there are plenty of facilities close by. Building a new one would lose these people this benefit. Add to traffic chaos and more pollution in the area where wildlife are left in peace at the moment.

We cannot afford the loss of good farming land which is needed for food in the future, particularly as world population is increasing. Also more land is being used for biofuel and there may be loss of crops due to droughts or floods if weather patterns change. The new stadium and associated road changes would cost millions of pounds. Who would pay for it all? (Funding should be investigated!) The additional traffic would gridlock the area.

Traffic problems exist daily at Wheatcroft Island and will get worse. As for a 45,000+ football stadium, it cannot be justified by Nottm Forest. Both Forest & Notts County together would not fill it. It is my belief that any football stadium or any other sports stadium should be built close to a motorway.

Let’s hope they see sense and stop this ridicules development.

Mr John Long, Nottingham
It would be totally wrong to allow the development of the green belt whilst there is so much land closer to the city centre in desperate need of investment and regeneration - land which it would be more sustainable to build on, with better transport links and better access to jobs and amenities. Sure it's a bit harder, but our elected officials should prioritise genuine sustainable development rather than let big house builders damage the environment and walk away with a quick buck.

Ms Tracey Lloyd, Keyworth
More building on the flood-plain is surely a very bad idea. As is moving the stadium to an out of town location. This will create a huge additional environmental impact for every match through the additional need for transport this will create, as well as the impacts of the development itself. Football stadiums should remain in the communities which support them, where many businesses depend on match day and other trade from the stadium, and which are accessible by public transport and walking.

It is obviously the wrong location and even if it should come back to developing the City Ground it should not be funded by either City or County Councils when there are more urgent and important issues that need funding.
