I have lived in Ewart street for 5 years and notice over the past 6-months when returning from work t 19.00 there is nowhere to park and I have to drive round for 10 - 25 minutes just to find a place to park my car for 8 hours until I have to leave again at 6am. I'm a manager and work long hours and driving 40 minutes to get home each day with the added extra of thinking about can I park down my own road is very stressful. Ewart street is like a carpark and from 6am in the morning all I hear from my home is car engines revving high where they are trying to park, there is also the added extra of cars parked on pavement and damage to other vehicles where they are boxed in and when trying to park or leave are hitting the vehicles in front and behind. After 5 year the time has come for me to move as these really no way to live when you are wasting 2 hours a week to simply park when returning from work in the evening. Put in parking permits and the road will clear like when it snows and Christmas day, meaning half the cars down ewart street don't live here. unnecessary Stress!!

This is another council strategy for easy money making.

I used to live in seven dials area and many of the neighbors fought against the parking scheme but the council ignored everything and went ahead with their decision;
The council claimed that the former Children hospital was the cause of visiting parking. 3 years after the introduction of the scheme the hospital was closed down, the council knew about this but kept it very quiet;

In seven dials initially the pay and display bays only cost £1 per hour and 50 visitor tickets a year, now it cost £3 per hour pay and display and residents only get 20 visitor tickets a year. SHOCKING;;

If the council really want to solve the problem of visiting and "AMEX" commuting parking why they don`t give free parking permits for residents and pay and display for everyone else.

John street is in an appalling state with many holes, uneven levels and humps making it very dangerous to drive through, at no point the council has mentioned anything about repairing the roads.

Amongst other things it will not reduce car ownership - just encourage people to park elsewhere and drive between their cars.

The high price of the permits and the diverse areas covered by the proposed CPZ suggests this is a money making exercise rather than a scheme to benefit the residents.
