The whole reason for the existence of the company was the distribution, supply and sale of electricity.
After privatisation the focus changed, we were no longer a service for the people, we were now to make a profit regardless of the consequences.
North West Water took over the company and immediatlely began a systematic stripping of NORWEB. The final blow was to sell off the supply and distribution business, ie the reason NORWEB existed.
