Please get this done ASAP? My daughter has a grandmother from hell intimidating her and constantly threatening her to take her to court for visitation schedule on my daughter's newborn son. The father is in jail but not listed on the birth certificate thank God. She is making life so stressful for everyone including getting her niece to threaten my daughter. Enough is enough.

Parents have a fundamental constitutional right to make decisions regarding their children, including whether visits occur with third parties, as well as the terms surrounding those visits. I applaud the Court of Appeals for its decision in Koshko v. Haining. If fit parents decide to prohibit visits with someone - even grandparents - there is often a valid reason for it.

I would like to see the good parents have the say in the matters of their children. Especially where the child is caught between disagreements, verbal abuse, addictions and the parents are afraid if they get out of the situation that the grandparents try to take the child just to get even.

I being a grandparent of 2 children strongly feel that our children are imature and just starting out as a parent do not know what is best for their children. They need the guidance of us as grandparents since we "been there don't that". I also think when we have disagreements with our children they use withholding visitation to punish the grandparent to get us back for when they were punish during their childhood.

Please fix this law and protect us parents from controlling manipulative grandparents who have hidden agendas to brake up marriages.
If the courts don't start protecting us parents were in big trouble.

MD Legislature must act to bring the current statute up to par with the MD Supreme Court ruling to avoid costly litigation for parents from frivolous lawsuits and MD judges ignoring the ruling and basing their decisions on the current OUTDATED statute.
