Many have been addicted for decades. The lower economic class that represents the majority of smokers will be forced to quit, or they will resort to means of avoiding the tax through crime or across-the-border purchase. This law is senseless and it is constitutionally questionable as stated in the petition.

If the state wants to tax anyone, get on the backs of the wealthy, and off the backs of those of us who are already taxed as if we live in New York.

I would rather move to another state, than let Texas ( New York Jr. ) rob me of another penny.
