Second: all patient's medical records are supposed to be private and confidential. Period.
Third: the doctor-patient relationship is supposed to be private and confidential and absolutely free of interference by politicians and bureaucrats, who have no medical training.
Fourth: the DEA has absolutely no business searching through an individuals private, confidential electronic medical records in a wholly inappropriate and misguided effort to fight the war on drugs. I can absolutely guarantee that the DEA will not find any smuggled heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, or any other illicit drugs in anyone's electronic medical records.
The DEA should get out of their offices and into our ports of entry with trained drug sniffing dogs and be searching cargo containers as that is where smuggled drugs will be found, not in computer records.
Fifth: attempting to rein in rampant recreational opiate abuse by punishing legitimate intractable pain patients to the point of suicide by denying them access to opiate medication, which is often the only effective form of pain control, is quite literally the definition of murder.
Government should not be actively participating in the murder of intractable pain patients by denying them access to opiate medication.

Each patient is different from the next and needs to be treated based upon their individual needs. Hyperalgesia may affect a small portion of intractable pain patients but it is simply not as ubiquitous as the anti-opioid zealots would have the government, doctors or the general public believe. The zealots would have people believe that their pseudoscience is enough to justify forcing people, who have responded perfectly well to long term opioid therapy, into a life of suffering and no quality of life at all simply to stave off the low-risk of addiction. They want people to believe that addiction does and will always occur when in fact only roughly 0.4 to 6% of people prescribed an opioid become addicted!
Please, stop the insanity. Get the government OUT of my doctors office! Tell the government to STOP threatening doctors with loss of their medical license and jail should they prescribe high dose opioid therapy to patients in need. Too many people are also dying from suicide due to untreated and under treated pain!! Do their lives matter?

These drugs do not take away all of my pain, so how do they expect ibuprofen to handle it? I have a small Social Security check and little savings. I cannot afford going to pain specialists and repeating my tests and urine samples and other things that make me feel like a criminal (such as counting my pills). I think it's awful that so many people kill themselves by abusing drugs, but it's not my fault. STOP PUNISHING THE INNOCENT!! I suspect that if this approach keeps going, you will have a whole new category of deaths - those of us who can't get their pain under control anymore and commit suicide. What a waste.

I will soon have to go through severe withdrawals for no other reason than this ridiculous change for everyone taking medications, and no exclusions for those who have done things by the book. This isn't fair and unrealistic, and if you say that a pain management doctor can do as they need, well tell that to those physicians who are scared to death that the CDC or drug enforcement agency will close them down! I hope this will help those like myself, to not unnecessarily have to go through months of withdrawals, all over this new ruling!

Causing such disabling states that they are left bed ridden unable to function or perform. Even the basic skills of human survival. Like dressing showering eating cooking meals work is impossible when you are in such debilitating pain and so is just about everything else. Every task is monumental when you are in such severe pain. Pain patients are dying from complications of unrelieved pain and they are killing themselves to try to relieve their pain. No one should ever be left to suffer in such pain that their body malfunctions and they die or they deliberately take their own life to escape their pain. Restore medications to chronic pain patients Find another way to help drug addicts without hurting & killing pain patients.
