Most of the new rules are terrible and don't improve the game. Rushed behind theory is right but rule is not black & white and the rest are making the game more like netball. Tribunal is still hurrendous as well.

Lets go back to the rules that were in place back in the 80's. Footy was both tough and skillfull back then, add to that the speed of the game now and the game would be a specticle once again.

And while we're at it let the AFL know that we don't want new clubs from Sydney and Queensland. Why dilute the league with teams that nobody cares about? Let the Swans and Lions exploit the growing markets in Gold Coast and Western Sydney. If we must have two new clubs then my vote is for Tasmania and country Victoria (based out of Ballarat, Bendigo or Albury/Wodonga).

"Modern" tactics don't seem to help either, standing off and creating zones = boring. Attack the ball.
Players are told to hang onto the ball, retain possession. Get rid of it and move it on. The beauty WAS it's free flowing nature.
Too much talk of numbers and percentages. Americans have an obsession with such things, Australians don't. "His vertical leap is outstanding", yes but he can't kick with his wrong foot.
Continual talking up of mediocrity by players, coaches and media. Bad.

Please stop the chaos. No new rules! Take the over technical interpretation of rules such as the hands in the back rule and give the poor defenders a chance and allow our tough hard tackling game to return. Most of all for once admit you got it 100% wrong with the ridiculous interchange rule. The behavior of the AFL Hierarchy has all the hallmarks of a dictatorship, please return some democracy to our game.

I've been a passionate follower of the game for the past 13 years and never have I enjoyed the game less. These constant rule changes are a pain and the fact is, the game has just become more and more confusing. The Interchange rule, push in the back rule, new tribunal/MRP system, they all are contributing to ruining the game as we know it. Give the game back to the fans.

The game has become a plastic boring affair.Sure it's played by fantastic athletes, But hey athletics belong on the athletic track and not the football ground where men play men on men and take the hard nocks. If you play hard you don't get hurt, play SOFT AS THE AFL WANTS and the GREAT GAME as a true team sport is wrecked. and injuries occur. Heck the players are the game not the umpires who are being paraded as prima donnas.NO MORE RULE CHANGES PLEASE!

The game is no longer run by the skill and courage of the players, it is now run by the 10,000 rules which makes the game look like netball. Bring back the old days! i love watching football but have lost a lot of passion for it as the game has changed too much and for the worse. Let the boys be the boys again! Bring back the proper contact. I agree with protecting our players from being hurt but stop covering them with cotton wool.

You only have to watch an old match from the 80's to see how much more exciting the game was. You are driving AFL fans away in droves. STOP and consult the real stakeholders here!

You are ruining our game. Many people are turning to local competitions and even away from the game itself due to the sanitisation of the game. Everything wer love about the game is being taken away and it's getting to be a non-contact sport.
