My mother was in the parking lot that day, she saw what happened and tried to help Officer DeMatte, using his radio to call for help while trying to keep pressure on his wound. I was 7, She came home w blood soaked clothing. She said he was very worried about his kids,and for some reason I think his daughter may have been working at the supermarket that day.She testified and helped put him away. Mom died in 1996, she must be rolling in her grave at the thought of him getting paroled.
