It does not fit in with the surrounding area and will add little value. The environmental impact will be significant, our roadways cannot handle the increased traffic, and there is no available affordable housing for the amount of staff this business will need to employ. The onus of giving an exemption to existing code should not be on the residents to have to protect the code, but on those requesting it to have to prove the value of their project and to prove it will cause no harm or to diminish the quality of life of the neighbors. This project has not been able to prove it is worthy of an exemption. If anything, Southold needs to tighten our codes to protect our community from growing unsustainably, not to be giving exemptions. The change in year round population since the initial traffic study was completed for this project makes those results obsolete. No longer can one just make a quick run to the market during the summer or on weekends. Our quality of life has already been significantly impacted negatively by the increased visitors to farm stands and wineries, however many of these businesses were already here decades ago. We should not grant a special exemption to a new business that will further decrease our quality of life and our environment.

It wouldn’t be a build it would be a demolition. , I can think of no worse idea then allowing this to go through. This would destroy not only the heartbeat of the Village and town of Southold. It would impact the entire framework of the north fork. It’s not just in the big things it’s in the little things. Every single inch of this is pure selfish corruption that will affect the road systems pollution through the air, noise pollution, traffic, taking away chipping away at history! A village is a living and breathing organism. We are and in solidarity that this will bring nothing but corruption in every way to Southold and surrounding communities. We are here to preserve gods country. Not to essentially trash it all. This literally is farm to table. There is no need for the monstrosity that is being proposed. NO TO THE INVASION OF OUR HOMES by means of land of nature of history of culture of architecture of fresh air of clean air and all the birds in all the trees. Go over-gentrify somewhere else. If I could be there in person I would be. So Proud of my mom who will be there without saying much, articulate so well. I’m taking the time to compose this because she. taught us to see the beauty in everything but also to advocate and not count on others but our own voices and our own wings; I have faith that’s the good people of our very large village.
